Gulkarmat Agency Supports Provision of Fire Handling Services at ANRI Office

Jakarta Provincial Government through Fire Handling and Rescue Agency signed a cooperation with National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia related to Provision of Fire Handling and Rescue Services at ANRI Offices and Surrounding Areas.

The signing was done by Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency Head, Satriadi Gunawan together with ANRI Secretary, Rini Agustiani at ANRI Office, Jalan Ampera Raya, Cilandak Timur Urban Village, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, Thursday (8/1).

The cooperation includes, provision of fire and rescue posts, maintenance of fire and rescue posts, socialization and training of fire and rescue, placement of fire engines and their equipment and placement of fire and rescue personnel/officers.

Acting ANRI Head, Imam Gunarto, assessed that the opening of fire station is important. It is aimed to prevent fire incident that occurred at the Military Personnel Records Center in suburb of St. Loius, Overland, Missouri, United Stated on July 12-16, 1973.

Veterans of the United Stated had difficulties to receive benefits since their files were burnt during the incident.

"ANRI stores millions of historic archives since 1902. We try our best to keep these archives safe from threats, one of them is the danger of fire," he said, Friday (8/2).

Imam delivered his grateful and appreciation to Jakarta Provincial Government for this cooperation. He also appreciated the firefighter's response time from minimum 15 minutes to 7 minutes.

Moreover, ANRI Bureau of Personnel and General Affairs Head, Sarip Hidayat, stated it is important and necessary to protect and maintain archives in terms of information and physical from damage due to disasters or human negligence.

"Fire is one of disasters that often happens," he stated.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency Head, Satriadi Gunawan, appreciated ANRI for taking care fire post facility.

In accordance with the mandate of Jakarta Regional Regulation Number 8/2008 about Prevention and Handling of Fire, he added, there must be at least one fire post in urban village area. This aims to pursue response time and minimize loss of life and property.
